Nature’s Lawn & Garden is one of the forerunners of organic and chemical free lawn care. Our founder and president, Stuart Franklin, literally wrote the book on natural lawn care (Building a Healthy Lawn, A Safe and Natural Approach, published in 1988) long before organic and eco-friendly was in the public eye. We are a family-owned business that is passionate about building healthy lawns and gardens while providing excellent service and value. 

Nature’s Lawn & Garden started as a Western New York lawn care service over 35 years ago, and has since grown to include do-it-yourself lawn and garden products that are 100% non-toxic and safe for use around pets and children. Our flagship product, Aerify!, is a liquid soil aerator that has been a game-changer for lawn aeration across the US! We sell it here on our website, and we also use it on our service customers’ lawns to great effect.

Nature’s Lawn & Garden is a small, family-owned business backed by 40+ years of experience and a passion for lawn care and gardening. Every product we sell on this site has been tested by our founder on his own lawn and garden, and are used regularly by the employees as well. We offer high-quality, affordable, eco-friendly, and easy-to-use products because we want to help you create the lawn and garden of your dreams without putting any more toxic chemicals into the environment.

Yes! One of our top priorities when we are creating products is to be sure our products are 100% non-toxic and safe for use around children, pets, and other family members. 

Nope! Even our pesticide, Yard Guard, is safe for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators and beneficial insects. You can use our entire catalog of products and rest assured that you are not harming the environment in any way, including the friendly pollinators in your neighborhood.

Many of our products are highly compatible, though may require a little extra math to make the dilution rates work. However, a few exceptions apply:

• Liquid Lime, Miconutrients, and Yard Guard should never be mixed together or with any other products.
• Liquid Iron should only be mixed with products in water, in a tank sprayer, never in concentrated form (as in a hose-end sprayer).
• For specific precautions, please see individual product FAQs.

For the most part, yes. The only exception is Yard Guard. It’s best to wait a day or two after applying other products before you apply Yard Guard, as it is meant to sit on the surface of things and if the other products contain surfactants that can cause it to lose potency. If you can water in the other products in really well (15-20 minutes with a sprinkler) before you apply the Yard Guard, you can apply it the same day.

It’s always best to read the label for follow-up instructions, but for the most part we will ask you to water in your product within 24 hours and reapply within a certain time frame. Check labels or product listings for more specific information.

Unfortunately packages do get bumped around in transit and sometimes your order might show up in less-than perfect condition. If your order arrives damaged, please email us a photo of the damaged items with reference to your original order number (beginning with NL-). We are happy to replace or refund any order that arrives damaged.

Because our priority is to provide effective, non-toxic DIY solutions, we currently do not offer any products for weed or crabgrass control. We have not found any products that meet our standards of effectiveness while also being non-toxic and safe to use around pets and children. However, we do believe that a healthy, weed-free lawn begins with healthy soil. If you want to reduce weeds in your lawn naturally, make sure your soil is in good health first! Aerify Plus, Nature’s Magic, and other amendments like Liquid Lime can all contribute to building a healthy, weed-free lawn.
