Liquid Lawn Aeration
Liquid Lawn Aeration is a much easier, less expensive and more effective way of aerating lawns than mechanical core aeration. With the proper materials you can improve soil structure and create a much healthier root environment not just for lawns, but for all the plants, shrubs and trees in your yard.
Our best liquid aeration product is Aerify PLUS. It contains a liquid soil penetrant that breaks apart tightly bonded clay particles. This creates "space" in the soil, allowing roots, water and air to permeate. We also add bio-activators (humates, seaweed and molasses) to help speed up your soil's regeneration. When the soil is well aerated and bioactive, roots grow deeper and plants are much healthier. The soil drains faster when wet, but it actually holds more water when the conditions are dry.
Liquid Lawn Aeration:
- Helps loosen clay and reduce compaction
- Eliminates the need for mechanical aeration
- Helps wet soils drain faster
- Moves water and nutrients to roots faster
- Improves water retention during drought
- Bio-activates the soil and detoxifies
- Maximizes fertilizer benefits
- Improves rooting depth and density
- Helps with soil-borne turf diseases
- Safe around sprinklers and trees
- Can be applied throughout the season
One of the secrets to a great lawn is having a porous, well-aerated soil where roots can grow deeply and bio-life can thrive. According to the experts, the best soils should contain about 25% air. Unfortunately, many soils have a high clay content or are very compacted. They need to be loosened up and core aeration doesn't seem to do much to help.
What's Wrong with Core Aeration
Years ago we noticed that core aeration was really not very effective in terms of soil or grass improvement. The tines do not go down deep enough and holes are too big and too far apart. Only about 5-10% of the soil gets touched even when lawn is gone over twice. It actually thins out lawns and many lawns are already too thin. It exposes weed seeds to air and light, which encourages their sprouting. It is messy, time consuming and expensive if you purchase it as a service. And if you rent a machine it can take longer and give you much more of a workout than you want. Also, there are problems running heavy aerators over sprinkler systems, underground wires, water vent caps and especially tree roots.
Liquid Lawn Aeration with Aerify PLUS is simply a better way to aerate a lawn.
Applications are quick and easy to do by the homeowner. It is safe to use over sprinklers, tree roots and wires. It covers 100% of the soil without making a mess, and it actually does break up and soften clay and reduce compaction. It can be used to improve soil in the whole yard, not just the lawn. Regular use improves soil structure deeper and deeper. It contains many trace elements which are great for plant and soil health. And, it is less expensive than core aeration.
Did you know?
The structure of your soil is crucial to the health of your lawn and plants. Soils that are too sandy or claylike are problem soils. Adding Organic matter or compost has long been recognized as one of the best ways to improve soil structure. Liquid Lawn Aeration applications will help break up the clay and gets the organic matter "working" much faster.
